An interview with Boston-based singer and guitarist Ruby Rose Fox will be part of the June 29 edition of the Devo Rock Show.
The program airs Mondays between 9 a.m.-noon and features a diverse mix of rock music and commentary.
Fox, the former vocalist for the Boston ska outfit Mass. Hysteria went out on her own a few years ago and currently fronts an eight-piece band which includes four back-up singers.
She was in Hartford this spring supporting Martha Davis and The Motels in an appearance at Infinity Hall.
Cited as one of the top up-and-coming artists in the Boston area, Fox was named best female vocalist in last December’s Boston Music Awards. She has been described as “one part Leonard Cohen, one part Patti Smith, one part Roy Oribson and all Ruby Rose Fox.” A recent piece in The Boston Herald said: “Her artistic vision has remained steadfast: arty, edgy rock ‘n’ roll that lets her be Lou Reed and Nico at the same time.”
Fox recently released “Good Friday/Gloria” and “Blue Angel” and launched a Pledge Music campaign to complete her first full album.
